Thank You, Jesus!!! Isaac Morris Walks!!!

On September 25, 2007, at approximately 7:00 am, Jennifer Morris was obedient to the Holy Spirit. As her family and I knelt around Isaac’s hospital bed, Jennifer prayed a prayer that she was given by the Holy Spirit weeks before. She knew if she prayed this prayer that her son, Isaac, would be protected by God during a very dangerous surgery. As I listened to her prayer I was amazed at what I was hearing Jennifer prayed confidently, declaring that she knew the promise of Matthew 18:19 was true.
Matthew 18:19 (New International Version)
19 "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.”
Jennifer prayed with an authority given to her by Jesus when He gave his life on the cross and allowed the Holy Spirit to raise Him from the dead. Whether or not she realized it, she called on God to do what He promised to do in the Bible. Jennifer asked God to do something that many doctors said would never happen. She asked that her five-year-old son walk after surgery. Due to inevitable complications and pain, physicians thought it would be difficult, if not impossible, for little Isaac to fully recover the use of his legs. After the prayer, I anointed Isaac with oil and he was taken to surgery.
Then began the waiting. The waiting was not new to the Morris family. You see, this was the eighth time that Isaac had been in a surgeon’s hands. Doctors had warned the family that the operation was dangerous - Isaac could loose his life.
At about 2:30 in the afternoon, Jennifer got on the elevator at St. Louis Children’s’ Hospital only to see Isaac’s surgeon standing next to her. The surgeon’s assistant later said that Jennifer had turned very pale and nearly passed out. It was only seven hours after the surgery had started, and Jennifer had originally been told that it would take approximately eleven hours. In her attempt to rectify this inconsistency, Jennifer’s mind jumped to the worst. When the doctor realized who she was, he gave her a thumbs up sign. Then he said he would explain everything when he came to their hospital room.
The doctor was amazed. God had organized Isaac‘s body differently than most. A tube that needed to be moved from one kidney to the other was literally laying on top of his other organs. This made the surgery much quicker and easier in that the doctors did not have to be as intrusive. Furthermore, usually during this particular operation, the entire appendix is removed and used as a catheter between the patient’s bladder and belly button. However, Isaac’s appendix was so long that the doctors were able to clipped off just a piece of it to be used instead of having to take the entire appendix out. Those two events shaved four hours off the surgery. The fact that the surgery was not nearly as invasive as normal made for a much shorter recovery time as well.
Then came the miracle. Isaac walked a few steps two days after surgery. On the ninth day, Isaac Morris ran down the halls of St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Only twice after going home did Isaac use any pain medication. Furthermore, the walker that had been sent home was simply unneeded.
Three weeks later, as Isaac sat by a tree in his yard at home and gazed into the sky he told his dad, Bobby, that he had had a conversation with Jesus. Jesus had said that it was He (Jesus) who had healed him. With those simple words, Isaac got up and ran off to play!
Nancy and I join with the Morris family in giving thanks to Jesus for Isaac’s miraculous healing during and after his surgery.
Mark 10:13-14 (New International Version)
The Little Children and Jesus
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
