The Lion's mouth is shut-part two

January 29. 2007

In part one of this two part posting, I told about my former pastor and friend, Dart Henry. Dart's prayer that the lion's mouth (cancer) be shut over our lives really touched my heart. I have read Daniel's story in the lion's den every day since September 24, 2006 when Dart told me about it. I believe God is answering Dart's prayer for my family and I.

We have been receiving wonderful reports from doctors. The blood test results have been great, even during chemothreapy. My last MRI of my brain was on January 15, 2007.

I arrived at Boone Hospital Center at about 1:00 pm for the MRI and I got registered for the test. Then I was escorted to the waiting area while the previous test was being finalized. When it was time for my MRI, I was reminded of the paper pants that are required to be worn in the MRI unit. (The machine gets really messed by any metal on trousers like zippers or buttons.)

After I changed into to the fashionable paper pants, I placed all my belongings (including my Bible) into a locker. At the last second, I asked the assistant if I could get a quick hit of the Word. (That is a quick look at my Bible.) She allowed me to do so. I then did what I call Bible roulette. I opened the Word to a random page and looked down in the middle of the page at one random verse.

2 Timothy 4:16- (NJKV)  But the Lord stood with me and stregthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. ALSO i WAS DELIVERED OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE LION.  WOW!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!! I believe God was confirming the word that He gave to Dart to give to me and that God was shutting cancer's effect on my body.

I was touched by God's peace and joy as they stuffed my body into the MRI. The unit is very loud and I was so relaxed that I nearly went to sleep in the 25 minutes I was in the unit. My mind and body were at total rest.

When I went to my neurosurgeon's office later that day, the Lord confirmed His Word. My doctor told me that given my diagnosis, the results of my MRI were no less than remarkable. There are no new cancers/tumors and the area of my brain that had been affected before my surgery in September was actually getting smaller.

Praise God! Thank you, Jesus for touching my body! Thank you for your favor.

Please continue to pray for my family and I as we continue to follow the chemo regimen the doctors have recommended. Please stand in prayer as we continue believe God for the miracle of being healed from a disease my doctors tell us that there is no cure for.

Please comment on this story or anything else on this website. Please e-mail me with your stories of God's glory or if need a miracle in any area of your life. E-mail if you only need prayer...I'll pray for and with you. You can do that at Michael@rejoicinginhope.org.

We love you!
